Default What is a donk bet ?

I saw somewhere in HEM that my donk bet % for one session was 91%. Granted, it was a somewhat short session, but I have never heard of this before. Can someone tell me what this is ?

how the hell can you spell quantathingy?

It could work out when you shouldn't have been in a hand every time you go to showdown i.e. when the odds against you winning were greater than the reward offered.Your own HEM would have data on every hand of course.

Very Very easily.... a donkbet is when a player leads out on the flop out of position (ie. you've called a preflop raiser while in the blinds... then you go and lead out on the flop... this is the definition of a 'donkbet'). The donkbet may have been named that because (imo) why would someone be leading out so often on the flop if they actually have a strong hand.... wouldn't they just check to the initial preflop raiser.. in hopes of at least taking down a c-bet from them?? (sometimes I'll donkbet.. but it's not a usual part of my game... ie. I might donkbet lead out for a weak-looking 1/3pot bet when I've flopped a set while in Blinds.. especially if there's an A or K on the flop and I think this may have hit this particular Tag's likely holdings...

I could also post some articles on 'defending against the donkbet' if anyone's interested?
