Progressive Betting is a very controversial subject. There are those who believe that negative expectation can be overcome by varying bet size at very specific times. They believe that the trick is to know when to increase the bet size. This section is intended to provide information that will help a person understand the ramifications of following some of the more popular progressive bet sizing strategies.

The wonderful thing about roulette is that the game offers a number of different betting options and still remains simple to play. Given the slow place of the game players can take their time when deciding what bet to place. There are two different types of roulette betting, inside betting and outside betting. Every roulette table will have a table minimum for these bets. Players are required to bet at least this minimum amount for each outside bet placed. For inside betting, the total sum of inside bets must be equal to or greater than the table minimum.

Roulette betting is usually done with colored chips representing a certain denomination. When you first sit down at a table you will be assigned a color when you exchange your money with the dealer. If you're only playing outside bets then you can play with regular casino chips instead of the colored roulette chips.

All bets are made after the dealer pays out winnings from the previous spin and removes a marker placed on the winning number. Do not place your bets before this marker is removed. When the spinning ball begins to drop, the dealer, or croupier, will wave his or her hand across the betting table. This signifies the end of betting for the round. Make sure you have met the minimum bet requirements before this point and do not try to place bets afterwards.
